Falcon 5771 & Spi_usb Flasher Options

Hi Guys,

I've soldered the first part of the flasher without installing the diodes yet (as per http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/How_to_JTAG_XBOX..._SPI_Interface)

I'm using the Tiao USB spi flasher and I've managed to dump the flash perfectly, no bad blocks.

The wiki says not to solder the diodes until you flash Xell, so I flashed xell and booted the xbox to TV via eject button - but I get a black screen all the time.

With turning on with power or eject does the same thing.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or point me to the next step?

Do I need to install the diodes anyway before continuing?

I don't have my CPU_KEY as the process to get it requires the "xell reloaded" booting.

Would appreciate any help.

I think your confused mate, you cannot JTAG a falcon with a CB of 5771.

You can however Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) it.

You will however need a Glitch chip, and a way of programming it.

No diodes necessary at ALL.

I was reading some place that it is possible to JTAG a 5771 falcon with the right nand - but also many contradictory entries that state it is impossible.

Wish I had known that before ordering the SPI, but the only way I could have known that was to extract the nand to understand what CB I'm in.

Should I be going with RGH1 or RGH2?

Anyhow, glitch chip recommendation? cr3-lite maybe?

Hi mate, RGH1 is what you need, you can use your SPI flasher you have now, but I dont think you will be able to program the chip with that spi flasher.

So you would either have to make a programmer cable, buy one, buy a pre programmed chip, or buy another SPI flasher.

I only use the TX products, so Coolrunner Rev C or the new CR3 Lite is what I'd reccomend. There is no need to get a CR3 either as it offers nothing more to you, even a Rev A ot Rev B of the coolrunner will work for you too so maybe have a look on ebay.

But there are alternatives, Matrix Glitcher, Squirt 360, X360 gltich chip, probably more but can't remember them lol.

I'd recommend a Coolrunner rev C and a jrunner programmer (coolrunner cable comes with this). Souldn't cost over £30/$50/45 Euros delivered.

I've been looking around and I think I'll be going with the CR3 Lite, the question is - do I still need the Jrunner programmer or can I use my SPI_USB flasher I got from TIAO ? (http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/How_to_JTAG_XBOX_360_Using_TIAO_USB_SPI_Interface)

Would the TIAO work with the CR3 ?

I've managed to dump the nand no problem with this programmer, the machine just won't go into "glitched" or "jtagged" mode.

So my guess is when I get the CR3 I can glitch my poor old 5771 and then program with the SPI flasher... my guess could be wrong though hehehe

It will not be able to program the CR3 Lite.

Your SPI flasher is ok to dump and write to the nand but thats all.
