Trying To Get Everything Laid Out, Before I attempt to soft-mod Options

BD_Malone here,
I'm trying to soft-mod my xbox and have been doing a ton of reading and collecting (files & such) and want to make sure I have everything I need before I try this and find out I'm missing something.

I'm also stuck as to how I get action replay to recognize my memory card. I'm running vista and XBCD is being a bitch and won't read my controller which is how I was going to connect my memory card.

This however is what I do have:
Xbox with 5960 dash
Copy of OG Splinter Cell
Memory Card
Filezilla for FTP
splinter_cell_exploit-ntsc
Krayzie_SC-NTSC_Ndure_Installer_v1.1

So I believe I'm at the point where I need to get the files onto my mem card and transfer them over. So my questions are how exactly do I put the files on the card, do I unzip them and do it through action replay and if I can't get vista to read my controller what other option would I have other that buy an action replay to get the dongle I need?

Plug your memory card into your controller, and try running Xplorer360 beta 6 on your PC - see if that can find the memory card.

Then unpack Krayzie, and put the two numbered folders in the root of the memory card using Xplorer360.

Put the memory card in your Xbox, copy the saves to your Xbox, run Splinter Cell, load the gamesave, follow the instructions. Choose Basic Install - Unleashx Dashboard.

Once your Xbox is modded, make sure you copy the eeprom backup to your PC, either by copying it to the memory card and using Xplorer360 beta 6, or by using FTP to grab it from your Xbox.

Im getting a " Could not find FATX file to open".

Have you plugged the MU into your Xbox to format it? It's always worth checking by copying a gamesave (any one, doesn't matter) to the MU from your Xbox, and leaving it on there until you get your PC to read it.

Also, it might be worth trying a later version of Xplorer360.

I'm thinking it's because I can't get my PC to read the controller so it won't detect the MU. Are there any drivers for the MU by any chance? It asks for them every time I plug it in.

Well I found a friend to put it on a mem card for me. I can see it on the card but it only gives me the option to delete it... why is that?

My xbox is sending signals to my pc but filezilla wont connect to it. is there some kind of trick i'm missing??

What's the username and password used? How is xbox connected to network? Firewall on PC?
