Hey techies.

I had an issue last week with a stock BenQ drive using JF162, where in Firmtool32 in JF, once I'd opened the orig.bin, the source address for the key was different from the destination address.

Here's a screenshot of what I mean:
www.durhammods.com/benq.bmp

Even after pressing the spoof button, the address stayed different.
www.durhammods.com/bennie2.bmp

Obviously, after flashing the drive, it refused to read anything. I have been unable to resolve this.

Today I got another stock BenQ to do. I had the same results via JF165, so I thought I'd try firmtool16... note the different key locations, even though the prog replied back with a "Success":
www.durhammods.com/bencmd.bmp

Again, drive won't read any 360 disc.

Anyone come across this before? Any thoughts on how to get either JF or firmtool16 looking in the right location for the key?

Oh, and by the way, page 40 of the JungleFlasher shows the firmtool32 page of JF, and sure enough, the source and destination locations of the key are IDENTICAL... go figure. Just my luck.

i dont think it should matter. i have done multiple benqs and the key address was not always the same. though most are E030, i have some original fw with C030, B030, C050, and others, while the ix1.6 is always E030. All of them work.

When you read the benq the key as you know can be found in many places.
However when you make a iXtreme firmware the key is always at E030 and this should not cause a issue. (only on hitachi does key have to stay in same place)

Makes a lot of sense guys... I appreciate it.

One further question... the image of firmtool16 shows the destination as E040, and it still doesn't work. You both agree that e030 is the norm... is this the cause of my issue?

Sure enough... JF came back with E030. Went with it and it flashed fine... plays everything. Thanks again.
