I think my laser is failing on my Benq drive and I might need to get a replacement, how do i go about doing this. Do i just put the drive in the same console but swap over the key using jungleflasher?

you can replace the laser.

Much better to replace the drive as its probably had a hard time as it was first introduced in 2007 and replaced by Liteon in 2008. Belt motor/worm drive wear etc. Drives are cheap at £16.00 new off the ebay. The laser would be an easier option if he couldnt retrieve the key.

Hey guys so I went ahead and bought the new drive and took the key and firmware (lt3.0) from the other drive and it seems to have gotten worse lol I can't play any games be it backup or real, the only thing that seems to work is DVDS.

When i try to play a game or backup it loads the game without the image on the playgame coming up on the dashboard, i click it and it loads for a few seconds and goes back to the dashboard without saying anything at all.

I've tried flashing the drive again and still doesn't work...

Should I try and get another drive? This one smells faulty.

You shouldn't be flashing the firmware from the other drive, you should load the firmware from the other drive as the "source" in jungle flasher, then get LT3.0 and set that as the "target". Then flash.

Might not make a difference but worth 10 mins to check imo.

All I did was Flash the new one with the existing one and when that didn't work I flashed it again with new lt30 from the firmware pack
