Newbie Modding First Time, Few Questions Options

wise people says "Better be safe than sorry."

I am very new to this, I have done soft modding for my PS3 as well as Wii but for xbox 360 this is the first time.

I was seeing that there are multiple ways to mod, i.e just flash the dvd drive, or sold another pcb with xbox etc.


What I want to do is to play backup games which I assume that needs to be burn on the dvd and not copied on the internal hdd.

what the other mods like xkeys and xtreme are for?

I was looking my xbox yesterday and without opening the box and just looking at the tray it looks like it is either BenQ or Lite-on

The manufacturing date on my xbox slim is 2011-09-12 and it was updated online last week.

any help would be highly appreciated.
