I fail to see why it wouldn't. Just put some paste of some sort in them like vasoline and put them in the letters. I think that would stop the soda from getting into the letters.

I would really like to (1.) get more of a consensus that this actually works. (2.) see some pictures of the results.

Hey...'Bout to try this myself. To kind of assure myself of the lettering, I've put super glue in the indents. Two dried layers, of course. I'll post an update and picture whether it works or not in about 35-40 minutes.

Green as ever. I think it may be because I used Diet Mountain Dew, but that's only because I ONLY have that right now.

Well honestly I don't think this would work. The logic behind it doesn't add up to me thats why I want proof. I will go ask my father if it makes sense to him because he is a chemist.

EDIT: I asked him and he said that cola can dissolve paint because of the carbonate. He said for instance if you chake up a can of soda and spray it on your car it will ruin the paint. Also he said that the only reason he could understand the aluminum is it could act as a catalyst (speads up the reaction) for certain paints. So he basically said it COULD work but it depends.

So what I want to know is anyone who has got it to work what cola did you use and tell us everything that you did to get it to work. Even what type of aluminum foil.

well i can beleive this, coca cola will clean your coins (money) so its pretty nice and shiny.

i can definitely see that it could do this.

Well like I said my father told me it might and he knows better. Now the real reason I asked if anyone got it to work is I used diet cola on a brand new jewel last night. Stayed up for some time trying to get it to work and nothing happened. Soooo I don't know. I don't want to saw no this method doesn't work cause somethign might have went wrong for me. Instead I would like to see the original poster come back and answer some questions about this. thats great that you can see it working but as I stated I tried as the original poster said and I can't see it working because it simple didn't work for my eyes to see. So far I know it didn't work for me and now someone else posts a picture saying it didn't work for them. All I have to go on right now is a theory that someone says works and what someone else said who doesn't have a camera to prove it.

Sounds good but just for the record the reason I stayed up so late doing it was because I actually did try both regular coke and diet coke. Same results with both. I really hope this does work because it would just make things that much easier.
