Quick addition to address a problem I had:

Console not auto signing-in to your profile after boot?

Enable it. Go the the Xbox Live blade on your dash (or press the Xbox Guide button on your controller) and press the A button to select your gamertag display field (with your picture, gamerscore, zone, etc.).

Go down to the sixth option "Enable/Disable Auto Sign-In" to change your setting.

A quick setting selection that sometimes gets overlooks.
