PS3 Sixaxis Controller Can Be Used In Windows!

The Sony PS3 SIXAXIS controller can be used on a Windows PC but Windows XP and upwards would be best. It works as USB HID device under Windows.

Heres the instructions to make it work:
1. Download and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe). (attached zip)
2. Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe
3. Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.
4. Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.
5. Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it doesnt see it straight away.

cool, I wonder if there will be a blue-tooth based driver as well so it can be used wirelessly.

it seems odd that they'd actually use the cable for data transmission when plugged in rather then just power.

I dont know if I would use this over a wii controller or the 360 controller. Hell you can use a regular ps2 controller for quite some time now. I guess if they get the sixaxis working then it would be interesting.

There is already a Gravis Tiltpad. It sucks. I bought it for $10. sad.gif

Edit: It is good with tilt disabled.

hmm good point, the PS2 controller feels much more solid too... and has usable rumble for use with N64/PS1 emulators.

heck I built a PSX2PC adapter back in 2000 laugh.gif

Unfortunately, just the wired controller. I happen to only own two wireless ones so I'm s.o.l. until that peripheral for using 360 wireless devices with PC is released, though I'm still unsure whether I'd purchase that.

A Wii controller works on PC too? Interesting. I don't know how I'd feel using it for PC games though.

you don't have a charge cord for the 360 contollers? just plug that in and plug it in to your PC and it works.
Unless if you don't have a charge cord.
