I just saw the video and it's no different than the GT tech demo Sony showed at E3. The only thing that appeared new was the beginning sequence of the video which was clearly beefed up over the actual in game engine.
I don't know if it was prerendered or the cars just had a higher poly count but it was definately not the same engine. You tell just by looking at the indoor environments as apposed to the outdoor tracks. There was a huge difference....

So I say it's legit, a mix of pre-rendered and real time stuff....

Did you even play GT4, that first part was just a beefed up section of the photo mode in GT4 on the PS2, which looked great anyways, so I don't see how the PS3 would have to pre-render any of that

See that same location on the PS2

Nope, I stopped playing the GT series after the first one.

This explains what we saw in the video then.
The poly count on the environment is beefed up over the actual in game engine.
I'm not sure that with a single car onscreen, they've beefed up the lighting and environment reflections. But it does seem that way.

Let me say good for you. GT4 was the worst racing game I ever played. GT3 was good, but GT4 made me have disgust for Polyphony Digital. Stop making 700 cars that consist of 50+ skylines and make a more realistic game you morons. If I wanted a car Encyclopedia, I would go to the store and buy one and it wouldnt cost $50.

hahahaha....

The GT series is ok for car enthusiasts, the rest of us could care less.
We're gamers, and we simply want a game that's fun to play.
With it's realistic and simulation approach, I never liked the GT games.

I'd rather play a Project Gotham type of title.
You know, arcade type racers beerchug.gif

never played any GT since i tried the first one, didnt like it that u needed to pass tests just to play the game.

my lil bro has forza though and i thought it was a great sim, no tests needed to race and the AI was really good.
