Freezing In Certain Areas Options

I just bought a used copy of TDU from gamestop. Anyway, doing the tutorial, I go to the audi dealership to get a car. Freeze. Try again. Freeze. Go to Alfa, works, then the GPS leads me down to the Rookie Race, I head towards it, get to the first turn, getting close to the Audi dealership (turning left out of Alfa, first turn to the right, freeze). I figure the disk is dirty or scratched, clean it, same problem. Go back to gamestop, get another disk. Stick it in, same problem. Cleaned, still problematic, and I don't see any scratches. I eventually went around, but I still can't go near that spot, or the program crashes. I was also heading down the interstate, and as I exited the airport area (when the title changes) the program crashed again. I'm not using XBL, although I did get an update. Is there any way to avoid this or to stop it from happening? Thanks.
