Try refreshing your server listing right before joining, some games get locked and some servers end (host leaves) right as you're trying to join, others with a FW as ping means they have a firewall preventing you from joining

Okay, I dunno how off topic this question is, but how come I have no problem connecting to people hundreds of miles away, but I can't connect to a friend of mine that lives only a few miles away???? We have both configured our firewalls to allow port 8602 udp and tcp, and when that didn't work, we both dropped our firewalls altogether, still to no avail. We can even ping each other, with no packet loss, we just can't play games against each other on XBC. This has become quite frustrating, and I have looked all over the place for a solution, but found nothing. Any help would be greatly apprecieated... beerchug.gif

If you both have the same ISP (comcast, att, verizon etc) there are issues with playing people close by, dunno why, had it happen to me

Make sure you both have your ports configured (check and double check)
Make sure your firewalls are allowing XBC through
Try hosting then have your friend try hosting
Power cycle the network and try again if it doesnt work

If all that fails (it very well might), try emailing the creator of XBC (Bio}{azard) or Maddness tod@xbconnect.com for Bio and maddness@xbconnect.com for Madd, they should be able to give you an exact answer, sometimes the program can just be squirrelly
