I just went thru all 20-odd pages of images of mods ppl have done and I must say there are some talented ppls out there! But one thing upsets me......how did they get the result? Like some of the cases were obviously cut using some sort of machinery and the cuts were bezelled as well. Is this because these guys have access to the machinery or is it a service which is available to all?

One of the mods which interested me was the fan attached to the right-side of the case (when looking at the front with the unit standing up). How do you attach the fan to the case without exposing the mounting bolts?

Well many people get stuff modded from outside sources. As many of them dont have the tools or are scared of messing up their work. Its similar to car modifications. Many people get their car pimped from auto places where they do everything from alarm installation to custom fabrication.

Now to answer your question. Most fan moldings are made from some sort of plastic. What you simply do buy some Acrylic glue. Nothing holds 2 solid plastics pieces together like plastic. Rubber hold rubber, wood hold wood. you get the idea. Not all of us have access to machinery. We either buy them or just simply borrow them . I own a dremel, a drill machine and someother random tools. I also won a jigsaw. That is the perfect tool well in my opinion. Some prefer dremels.

There are 3 major factors in modding something. well thats what i believe. you may not agree but thats fine.

they are TIME, Being Patient, And Imagination. Anyone can cut a window. But what makes you better then the rest?

You took your time, and used your imagination. So planning ahead really helps.

take your time. as for advise.

Happy modding from knight.

the fan was probably actually screwed in and then bondoed(is that a word?) and this gave it the smooth look with no showing screws

These are my tools for the job. A wired Dremel. Rough and Fine medium sized files. Extra fine small/tiny files. Patients, Imagination, Airbrish, Spray paint. Time. Lots of sand paper.
