Mastering is the final stage of music making. Once the music has been recorded and mixed, it is sent for mastering. Usually this process is overlooked by the musicians but slowly the importance of the mastered song is sinking in. The music industry is getting highly competitive. To keep up with the growing demands of the music industry, it is absolutely impossible to neglect the mastering part of the creation of music. Audio mastering is the process of preparing and transferring the source with the recorded mix to the data storage device or the master. When the music is mastered, it comes out sounding sweet. The mastering engineer listens to the song with trained ears to find out the places that need to be worked upon. With the audio mastering available online, there are loads of advantages that it has to offer. These include the faster turnaround time, cheaper rates and convenience. The online mastering is performed by the skilled engineer with years of mastering experience. The mastering engineer performs the mastering process using the same mastering equipments as the attended mastering. The process is vital when there is more than one track in the album. Mastering adjusts the gap between the sings, alters the intro and the end and reduces the noise in the background. As such when the song mastering is over, the song is clear, professional and loud. Now the service of a professional mastering engineer is also available online. This has made the process simpler and more convenient to be done. The quality remains as good as ever while the cost of online mastering is way too less.

I would think a REAL Professional Mastering service would have access to millions of dollars in equipment to polish tracks and create actual master disks to be used in mass production CD pressing. I'd stay away from cheeseball looking sites using hundred dollar software that only sell burned CDR's.
