Share Dialup To Sxb Options

First off I must say excelent job with SXB!
as someone who`s never used Linux Im very impressed
with my first taste!
the one problem Im having is setting up my network connection
so I can share my crappy dialup on my pc through to SXB on the Xbox
Im connected from pc to xbox through a crossover cable
I have been searching alot and havent been able to find anything
if someone could point me in the right direction of a tut or any direct help would be

Good you like sxb,hum great a windows question,so you are

using winxp ya,i always use win2003 server pro,every 1 hour

i spend on linux i spend 20 hours in win2003 doing other 2

bollywood projects,so sxb is just my pet project as i want

to learn linux.

There are great tuts here and on net about networking

so try them,but if you want to do it quick in winxp

then use free AnalogX Proxy server tiny and fast only few kb download.

So search AnalogX Proxy in google and download it to pc.

So first i think your pc is setup to ftp to xbox ya.

if so then your static ip is all setup to xbox or more sxb static ip.

so all above is done and ok ya.

Now AnalogX Proxy you downloaded in some c:\proxy ya

now click proxy.exe and in winxp taskbar right click on

AnalogX Proxy icon and click configure ya.

now switch on al options there example below

HTTP (web browsers) ON

SMTP (sending email) ON

FTP (file transfers) 0N


SMTP (sending email) ON

ET ETC OK.

Now in sxb on xbox run firefox-107 go to preference then gereral

then choose connection settings ok.

Now in menu mark manual proxy settings

mark all as seen below in chart make sure ports numbers ar ok.

so check, so do look below a nd add in firefox menu.
put you win ip adress example =192.168.0.1 is your in ip ok.

HTTP (web browsers) 192.168.0.1 (port 6588)

SSL 192.168.0.1 (port 6588)

SOCKS4 HOST (TCP proxying) 192.168.0.1 (port 1080)

FTP (file transfers) 192.168.0.1 (port 21)

SOCKS5 mark only

So carefully fill some of these in firefox save settings.

restart firefox and might also have to restart aproxy on windows.

Note you can do same in directfb terminal using directfb-link2 also

in sxb. seeya have fun.
