I own 6 wireless controllers, and I use my one wired controller as my workhorse. Buying and changing batteries is a pain in the ass. It all depends on where the 360 is placed in reference to the player and screen.

Its called rechargeable batteries or the "play and charge kit" ... who uses regular AA?

I think a core with memory card and wired controller is a much better starter system than one with wireless. Tons of parents don't want to be bugged every few days to replace/recharge batteries for their kids. And if a kid is used to saving to a memory card, no parent intervention is needed to copy games off the hard drive/onto a memory card when little billy wants to take his saves to little johns to play for the weekend, since they are already on the memory card.
