Its called rechargeable batteries or the "play and charge kit" ... who uses regular AA?

"play and charge" is a godsend, but after 1.5 years, the batteries are spent.

But how much have you saved?! I go through a set of rechargables every 1 to 2 weeks. Cost me £10 for a set of 4. So worth it.

I think a core with memory card and wired controller is a much better starter system than one with wireless. Tons of parents don't want to be bugged every few days to replace/recharge batteries for their kids. And if a kid is used to saving to a memory card, no parent intervention is needed to copy games off the hard drive/onto a memory card when little billy wants to take his saves to little johns to play for the weekend, since they are already on the memory card.
