Ok so I have a Hitachi 59DJ drive and have had it flashed for almost a year now. Then I started getting this:

IPB Image

sad.gif Happens on original disks(thats my original of Gears of War loaded in the pic) as well as backups.

NOW I get the 3 RoLs grr.gif

Went to go buy a new one but they just have the stupid BenQ drive sad.gif

Halp. What do you think is the problem, and what are my options?

edit: I should also add that I tried loading it without any disk at all in it and it stayed at the dashboard for a bit, then I tried adding the HDD on and it locked up on the XBOBX splash screen... then the next time I tried to boot.... xmas lights sad.gif

It's related to 3 ROD. When gpu is damaged,it affects some routes on the mainboard and that's why you get hard drive related error.

I see.

SO what are my options for fixing this? New mobo and dvd drive and then making the keys match? Is that basically all I can do?

This is a sure sign that the memory chips are not making a good connection...

Open it up and do the two penny fix...

Its easy and it should fix your problem by putting downward pressure on the RAM chips.

and while your doing that, an xclamp replacement, thermal upgrade, and a 12v fan mod wouldn't hurt while you have the system apart anyways. i personally like the lawdawg method for the xclamp replacement as it doesn't involve any drilling, just putting a few washers in and then screws that fit right into the existing heatsink.
