I have a Samsung 6T6 drive that I have modded for use in my Xbox and have run in to a problem. I have never gotten it to work correctly and finally opened it back up and monitored the drive's response from the board. Here's what I found:

The eject works properly, giving a high reading when unused and low when eject is pressed.
Tray in does not work. It is always low, even when the tray is in.
Tray out does not work when the tray is first opened, but if you press the tray sleightly in after it is opened, tray out goes high. It remains high, even if the tray is pushed all the way in by hand.

Note, when eject is pressed, it pushes the tray out, but never pulls it in. Even when the trey is completely extended, eject just tries to extended it again.

So my question is, is there anything I can do or is this drive a lost cause? It seems like what even senses that the tray is in is not working. I'm not familiar with how that mechanism works in a drive, so I don't know if it's something I can fix or not.

Actually, these readings were taken directly from the PCB, nothing soldered. Which means somewhere along the process, something got messed up on the inside. I'm going to break in to it a little further when I get the chance, I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what to check out when I do so, or if anyone can confirm this being a lost cause.
