Is there any way to stream music, pictures, or video to a 360 over a network using Linux? or is Vista/MCE XP required to do that?

Hi,

i have been using ushare to share music and wmvs to the xbox 360. It works almost the same as wmp11 sharing.
The only thing i dont like about ushare is that there is no subselection possible with music. There is no selection on genre or artist, only a full list of tracks, in one giant list.

I would wish the audio sharing featured a folder browsing style selection menu sad.gif

Except twonkyvision there are other alternatives, i cant remember the names atm but i guess u could do a search for upnp media sharing linux, im sure u will find some results.

Installation of ushare on my linux box was rather easy, install from yum, make a few changes to the config, adding a route and a firewall setting and setting it up as a service.

With kind regards
Marco
