Well i decided to upgrade to the latest build i could find today.

Its seems like my smb shares for my mp3s are even slower then b4. I have id3 tags turned off. Ive got like 4000-5000 mp3s devided into albums. My movie shares are fine, but i dont have near as many files there

playing an mp3 takes a little longer b4 i actually hear the thing.. not sure if xbmc caches more of the mp3 b4 it pays or what

but it just seems to be a little slower(no im not waiting like 10 seconds, just slight waits) then the last build i was using when navigating the folders and stuff. any ideas on how to speed things up a bit.

Latest CVS has directory caching now.

You'll have to compile it yourself if you want the latest.

You may also want to turn the disk sleep off completely. This is done by setting the sleep time to zero in the settings section.
