I'm thinking about doing a compiled release a whole XBMC based on what i've got right now. It WON'T be available in the usual places, however.
on a side note, and i know someone will probably kill me for this one, but what is the likelyhood of support for 2 different thumbnails depending on view?
Although i like the Wide Icon format, i'm not too thrilled with a lot of the wide icons for games.....i do have a small pack of icons that use the case/box art instead, and i REALLY like using them so far....what i was wondering is, if a particular game has only one or the other, naming it Default.tbn would be fine...the only icon would show up, regardless of view...
but, say i wanted to view games in Big Icon mode or in List 2 mode, or even in DVD move, in hopes of seeing the box art. Then, later on, someone else in the family logged in, and they prefer to view in Wide Icon mode....if both types of icons are available for 1 game/app/program/move, would it be possible to have either the skin itself, or perhaps XBMC, tell the difference between the 2 by name?
for example

<-- This could be named DefaultW.tbn

<-- This could be named Default.tbn
depending on view chosen, the proper icon would show. if only 1 icon exists, that icon would be shown no matter which view.
this is probably an XBMC thing, but i was curious if this could be implimented on a skin level
I would really love to find out how to do this too, seeing as I have both tall and wide icons for hundreds of tv shows and games along with various other menus. I have tried switching between views, but renaming hundreds of files just to change views doesnt seem worth it.
If anyone has any ideas on how to go about doing this, I wouldnt mind spending some time working on it if someone could just point me in the right direction for what I need to edit, be it skin files, xbmc files, whatever.
