Yo guys, not a good time for my first post but meh. I was given a 360 Pro console by my brother's friend after he got the RROD and couldn't be assed with M$ anymore, so today I decided I'd pop it open and see what's what. I changed the clips on the coolers for bolts, replaced the thermal compound, gave it a try and whammo, the console boots. Only problem is the DVD drive does not open at all, does not make a noise when the console turns on etc. so I am assuming the drive is shot.
I do not have the "key" from within the drive's firmware so I'm abit stuck as to what my options are. Some mods claim to bypass the whole key thing but I'm uncertain if this is even possible. Is there anyone on here (preferably in Australia) that can have a look at the drive's BIOS in a programmer and get me the key or a BIN file of it? Any other suggestions as to what I can do? Thanks in advance dudes
There is no way to bypass that "key thing".
If you cant get the key you cant play any 360 games but you can use the 360 as a dvd player and arcade machine
Have a look on the mainpage and scroll down a bit there is a forum for modchip installers flashers etc, search for a guy who does drive recoveries in your area
Actually one of the moderators called scuba is from Australia and if I remember right he does drive recoveries so you might want to send him a PMThis post has been edited by Wilhelm_I: Jun 15 2008, 02:38 PM
