My motherboard is a intel dp965lt with onboard sata, should the sata controller be ok for flashing the xbox 360 drive?

Your motherboard has an Intel 965 Express chipset, so if you're DVD drive is a Samsung, you're shit outta luck.

As for the other drives, I'm unsure. They require less specific configurations, and a quick search of these boards for that chipset provide no results. Try it, find out. Oh, and post back with your results so that if anyone else has this issue they can find it!
