Rgb Component Cable + 128mb = Hi Def? Options

Is 128 ram necessary to run Hi Def? I am currently using rgb component cables. Is there anything that I need to get hi def movies or, is that not even possible?

depends where you are..

if you have a usa console "ntsc" then you go to ms dash then enable High def in the video settings. then go back to your normal dash and enable them there..

if your in the uk (pal) then you have to change your display to ntsc 1st..

RGB is not technically component cables though. this may just be your description of them though..

but you have composit. "standard def"
true RGB "standard def but vibrant colours"
component "high def"

you need component cables..

you can get high deff with the standard 64mb. but extra memory wonnt hurt at all. but i still wouldnt go above 720p although you can go to 1080i/p the xbox hard ware may just struggle.

I have ntsc. Do they make component cables for the xbox? If not is there a tutorial for a mod? Will the CPU upgrade give me hi def? Is there anybody in the forum who sells the mother boards with the upgraded ram and CPU?

i love my xbox..
I really do.. but if all you want it for is high deff movies.. then im going to be blunt.
for the money you would spend to get a CPU upgrade you could buy your self a decent little micro pc thing that would piss all over the xbox for videos.

any way, yes they make component cables for the xbox.
they arent very expensive.

If you are looking to playback video that is highly compressed or too high res for xbox 1, consider streaming from your PC using ps3 media server. You may have to tweak the settings, and a decent PC is needed for a good experience, but it will allow you to watch videos you normally couldn't on xbox.

XBMC @ 720P and a set of component cables are a vast improvement over the standard composite and will play most scene releases that arent full hd, a lot of the mp4's i watch are very good resloution and size.
