Wow, I just have to say this was one of the most intense closing minute of a game I have ever seen in the NFL. I've never cheered and raged so much in one 30 second span in my life...

GO PITTSBURG!!!

One hell of a game, sorry Peyton Cya next year.

Did Eli get bent over or what. I had to remind myself that he is still pretty much a "rook" though

How's it a rout when a field goal with seconds left on the clock could have sent the game to OT? Yup, utter domination by Pittsburgh rolleyes.gif

Ok, you have my permission to change it to "Steelers squeak by Colts... but still WIN!" And actually, rout implies that they had to dig out or eject the Colts, which digging something out really isn't EASY, so it still kind of fits.

WOOT WOOT

...and in all honesty, I'm actually a Jacksonville fan... but I believe Jerome Bettis deserves a superbowl ring for the outstanding career he's had. smile.gif

I'm actually a Bears fan. With the high powered offense that Rex Grossman offers, (Says that tongue in cheek), I see the Bears going all the way. Actually I'm very suprised by how well they're holding up in this game. And though I hate to see guys get injured I smiled a bit when Foster went down.

Seattle will be the 2006 Superbowl champions.

Keep in mind I'm a saaad saaad Philly fan, but now that NE and Indy are out I don't see anybody competing with the Seahawks.

Manning has also officially moved himself into the alltime chokers club in my mind. Sofar population of said club are the Ottawa Senators and the Colts.

PS: YES I understand Manning barely had a chance to get a throw off on most plays today and YES I realize that the kicker was the real choker in this case.

i think the ref choked on that obviously long pass interference call that would have put the steelers in the red zone and instead ended up punting to get indy their first three points. And what's with the troy polamalu non-interception? And a Bus fumble, on the < 5 yard line, was a rare gift to the colts. Indy had everything going for them and they just couldn't play with a more prepared pittsburgh club.

Sucks the bears lost, i was hoping for a steelers/bears super bowl

Pittsburgh will take the Superbowl. Manning is our generations version of Dan "The Man" Marino and Tom Brady is our version of Joe Montana.

Agreed... I believe the Steelers will take the superbowl. The seahawks had a somewhat easy schedule, but will still more than likely be able to take the Panthers... Denver has a well balanced team, but the Steelers have a BIG NAME well balanced team (meaning they have alot more playmakers on both sides of the ball)... but in the end the Seahawks will not be able to compete with the Steelers D.

i think the press mis-uses this word often, i'm pretty sure that i've seen it used to simply describe victory many times even by a small margin (however dictionary.com defines it as "An overwhelming defeat."
