Hello to all...

My first post and I must say its a Great Forum and a Great Product..

Anyway,Im trying to install my Smartxx V3 into a Green Debug Kit Xbox.
I have previously had ithe chip on several others (1.4/1.4/1.6) so I know it works

The pinhead is already there so I put in the D0 wire and attatch the dvd power cable etc.
When turning on it does the 3 boot frag then flashes red/green.
No lights show on the chip.Seems not to be getting power.

Does bootup when I remove the chip.

Is there anything different to the way you set this up on the Debug Kit XBox.

Any help greatly appreciated..

I think I may have found the problem.
Is it necessary to install the black ground wire on a pin install.
I take it it just grounds D0 to activate the chip.
It says to use it in the manual BUT
Ive used this chip (and a xenium) on a 1.4 pinheader with just D0 and it works.
Oddly the Xenium didnt work on my Other v1 box with a USA
May have to trouble shoot on my other v1 the Smartxx v3 and USA install.
Still open to help as Id rather setup the Debug Xbox with the Smartxx V3.

Thanks

you can't use chips in Debug Kit...

BUT you can use the old devkit software hack to enable booting of non-signed code, and NO i am not referring to linux installers, I'm referring to the hack that involves placing 2 files on your XBOX to enable a B partition and then uploading a new BIN as the BIOS

Right you are and thats what im doing at the moment.

Surely theres some way to get these GREAT chips to work on a DEBUG KIT.
may involve a different type of bios.

Will the Hack debug bios (which im using at the moment)
work if I pit it onto the X3 chip???
Will put the chip in another box, flash it and give it a try.
Cant hurt nothing cause at the moment I cant flash anything too it.

Why dont they make debug versions of the FlashBios and X3 Config-Live i'll never know.
That would probably fix all the problems.
Time to try out my programming skill(s)
Thanks

Just an update.

For those interested.( or not)

Have got the debug working with an X3 ce modchip (yes i know wrong forum)
Was the easier to get going.
Now I know it works I can apply this to the Smartxx V3. (or Xenium Gold)
Just had to flash bank2 with the original debug bios on another box.
Now i have lan/hd leds and an x3 lcd working.(originally had this on the smartxx)

Now the fun begins...
You all have a good day.
