A Little Help Please Options

Hi all, hope this is right place to post if not then please do tell me.

just been out and treated myself to a new xbox and im going to flash it, but its been years since i have been here (my first 360 drive i flashed was a ms28 many years ago with help from the guys from this forum so im back for more help)

i have just opend it up and found i have a lite on dg-16d2s.

there are that many guides out there its a little hard to pick a good step by step one

so heres where i need help as eveything has changed from the last time i was here

i have read many articals aboutthe drive and a ck3 kit i will need, so i went out and made one using this tutorial

heres where i need help

so am i right in thinking instead of putting the pin in the battery like the tutorial i insert it into the r707 hole on the drive's board?

do i turn the 360 on and insert the probe into r707 hole while the 360 is on main menu?

what program will i have running on my pc to read the drive key?

can i use the new firmware i think its called ixtream lt to minimise chance of getting banned from xbl on my drive

i think thats all the help i will need for now just using my own made ck3 kit, after that im pretty confident i will be able to use jungle flasher to flash my drive.

What firmware version is on it? You may need to follow this tutorial.

my firmware version is 74850c

the help i need more than anything is how to use this devicei have built it but cant find out and info on how to use it.

If when you say "new" you mean "store purchased-new" and you have that old of a Lite-on, you should also tell us what the present dashboard number and MFR date is of the console. And also not connect to Xbox Live or play any games until you do.

As for your tutorial, it was a dead link for me.

im sorry when i say new i mean second hand, i got it off a mate who bought it december 2008 but he has not used it since jan 2009 because he got a ps3 for xmas, this i know for a fact but im sorry i cant tell you the dash as i have taken drive out ready for flashing.

the bit i dont understand is do i leave the sata cable connected to the xbox and lite-on drive, or lite-on drive and pc or just disconect it from the drive while im using my ck3 kit connected pc to read drive key

im all ready to go just need this question answering so if you can help id really appreciate it cheers mate

the best way to mod them is the MRA method. But you're doing the r707 route. Either way remove the drive from the 360. Leave the cords in the 360. Your connectivity kit came with a power cord for the dvd drive probably. The Sata cord you'll use will be attached between the DVD drive and your pc. (Either straight to a Sata port on the CPU motherboard, or as recommended and REQUIRED for some a VIA-chipset PCI expansion card)

Now re-read the jungleflasher tutorial one more time, before you respond. Even if you feel you know it by heart.

hi all, i have finally managed to flash my drive tonight and tested it using a copied game (split/second velocity) i borrowed from a friend and it worked great, terrible game though lol.

The last thing i would like to ask before i open up nzbmatrix is, now i have ixtream 1.6 lt installed and working can i play ntsc games on my uk PAL xbox?

Once again i would like to thank everyone who has made this possible for me, i couldnt of done this without youre help
