QUOTE(fchr0m @ May 18 2007, 07:00 PM) *

I deleted "manually" the save folders in UDATA and TDATA (I think they are named "00000000").
I reinstall Zsnesxbox in F:\Emulators\Zsnesxbox 3.1 (default.xbe and all the other necessary files are in this folder) . UsePathini=1.
But again when i run default.xbe the xbox reboots to main dash.
I really don't understand where is the problem: i installed near all the existing emulators (also all the previous versions of Zsnesxbox) for xbox (several times) and i didn't have any matter (except Kixxx 1.0).
I gave up trying i return to Zsnesxbox 3.0 Fix waiting for Zsnesxbox 3.2.

How are you "reinstalling" it? Don't just copy all the 3.1 files/folders over top the 3.0 ones. You also don't have to delete any TDATA/UDATA files.

1) Ignore that you even have a ZsnexBox 3.0 folder.
2) Create a folder on your Xbox called "ZsnexBox 3.1"
3) Put everything from the zip in this folder (Don't change ANYTHING in the path.ini).
4) Run default.xbe

It should boot just fine as is. If it doesn't boot at this point, then there is an issue with your Xbox or partition (try the E partition). You might also try using unleashX. And when I say run default.xbe, I don't mean have evox run it through the dash menu. I mean open up a file browser on your Xbox. browse to where it is, and run it directly yourself.

Now, slowly (one line at a time and test) start changing the path.ini if you need to.

So, I shouldn't do this? Did I do something wrong, because this works for me.

So thank you for donating so much of your free time and energy to developing Zsnexbox. [b]I honestly don't feel like you're going to drop the project entirely[/]b, but just in case you do, I might as well get all my thanks in. tongue.gif

First of all tanks for your support and excuse my lack of experience.
I "installed" Zsnesxbox 3.1 on E partition: all runs OK.
Then i move (using xbmc files manager) the emu folder from E to F:\Emulators\ and magically all works perfectly now.
I don't know which is the matter but i think I have some problems when i ftp files fron my PC to my Xbox as if the data are corrupted during the transfer from Pc to F partition uhh.gif . I noticed that the transfer process from my Pc to E partition needs only few minutes while the same process (regarding the same files) from PC to F xbox partition needs much more times.
May someone give me explanations about this?
Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the update, but I don't know if this'll fix my freezing problems at 1080i because with 3.0, I moved all my screenshots/previews out of zsnexbox's directory so it wouldn't display any more screenshots. The emu still froze after a couple of games.

If you can tell me exactyl how to reproduce it, I will look into a fix for it.

i.e

1) What skin are you using
2) What is the exact game sequence.
3) How much free memory is displayed at each step before the crash.

It may be a combination of the skin you are using with HD with the game sequence (no every SNES games uses the same amount of RAM. i.e. Yoshis Island allocates even more for the SFX2 chip then say SMW). Memory is VERY tight. At 1080i it gets even tighter and some skins use more RAM then others which might be causing you to run out. If it turns out to be one of the skins, you could allwaysdumb it down even more by removing the animations on the rom browser from the skin ini folder and drop the background images to 256x256 instead of 512x512.

I don't know if USB hubs would work with Xbox Media Center, but I do know that they work with Linux. The only thing I tested with XBMC was such an USB->PS/2 adapter. I think I also used it once with DOSXbox.

So far I never had problems with my USB hub, I use it to connect a USB mouse, USB keyboard and a USB headset (works fine with the Linux version of Skype under Gentoox) and I also can use both, the mouse and keyboard for example in XBMC and ScummVMx the same time.

@nes6502: You really didn't know yet, that you can use USB 1.1 hardware with a simple adapter? wink.gif Emulators like WinUAEX or ScummVMx have USB hardware support now for quite a while and since XBMC 2.0 you can also connect a USB stick with it and play music files from it or transfer files to your Xbox HDD from it in the XBMC file manager. The controller ports are actually just USB 1.1 ports, they only have a different design.

I also think that a USB mouse support would be interesting for games like Mario Paint, if it is not be too much work.

By the way, are there any other interesting titles you could play with a SNES mouse? I never did buy Mario Paint back then so I really never cared much about that, I only think I read something about the SNES port of Civilizations supporting it.

Several games supported the mouse believe it or not. There's a list on wikipedia. The Japanese Mario and Wario game is good.

One problem I have is when I want to swap a DVD, the emu just crashes/resets the xbox as soon as I press the eject button, and I have load it up again.

It would be nice that it allowed the swapping of DVDs even though the emu is being run from the xbox HDD.

You mean changing the DVD while the emulator is running causes a crash? Just out of curiosity, why would you need to do that? Won't the entire SNES set fit on a single DVD?

One of my personal favorite SNES games "King Arthur's World" can be played with a mouse, although I've never played it that way before. I'd imagine it would make the gameplay even better once you got used to it. I never owned the SNES mouse back in the day. That game is great though if you haven't given it a try yet.
