my friends xbox has 250 gig HDD. however, he can only see 170 gigs or so.
I installed the x4987 bios that has the G partition (i think thats the .67).

However, he cant use the G partition or save any games to it.

He backed up his current games to another HDD so we can try to fix this problem.

Can I simply re-flash BIOS with the new .06 and format a big F partition?

If so, is this what I should do:

1. burn .06 bios CD
2. boot xbox WITH bios CD already in xbox so it boots straight to cromwell flashing
3. let it flash the BIOS with .06
4. remove BIOS CD from xbox, reboot xbox to EVOX menu.
5. choose FORMAT drive from Evox menu

Is that exactly how i should do it? OR will have to re-install evox all over again etc? is there an easier way to fix this?

thanks

unless you left a abnk of cromwell ont eh modchip steps 1-3 wont work, you should be able to reflash via evox (you can use slayers to do this) then also use slayers to format F

Yes, I have G drive enabled.

However, when im tryin to copy games to the HDD using dvd2xbox, it wont let me burn games to the G partition - it doesnt even list the G partition.

So, we backed up the entire F partition and now we want to re-flash the bios to .06 so that he can use all 250 gigs on the F drive.

So, thats what Im trying to do......

I believe I have left bank 2 of the chip blank.

So, then I should just follow my own instructions above?

OR

Can I simply FTP the BIOS .bin file to the Xbox HDD and then use Evox to flash?
Im confused uhh.gif

Are you using the most current version of DVD2XBOX? Also, I think there may be a setting to allow you to write to other drives. I don't have a G drive but when I first started using DVD2XBOX it wouldn't list F:\Games until I selected the option.

Good Luck...

Press the White button in DVD2XBOX to enable the G drive if your version is old (re: like from a Slayer's 2.6 install, a.k.a. v0.5.9).
