The game rocks and could care less about the adverts. I mean you see them everywhere so its announced in the loading screen where you are doing nothing anyway.

You should boycot BK for different reasons like oh i dont know because their food will kill you! All fastfood is horrible for you so no more fastfood! I got a laugh out of THE KING being a promoter in the game. I kinda hear where youre coming from though with all the ingame advertising and BK having nothing to do with boxing till its in front of a bunch of kids then they are all about ramming there nasty ass food down our faces! If they are gonna do this the only reason should be to lower game costs to the consumer, but unfortunately its to fatten their pockets.

I probably won't make a lot of new friends here with this comment but here's my 2ct.

You people should not spend so much time to find things that annoy you.
You're playing a boxing game so play the damn game, stop complaining about the BK logo you're seeing, it's just getting annoying hearing nothing but whining on the boards.
EA always does everything wrong in some people's eyes but i think FNR3 is a very good game, which has brought me a whole lot of fun.
I couldn't give a crap less about the commercials in the game.
I actually understand them very well cause tests have pointed out that commercials in-game are very effective.

Another thing that cracks me up is that you guys are whining about all the BK commercials, but i don't hear a single soul complaining about all the EVERLAST logo's all over the ring, how come they are so much less annoying then ???

The everlast logos, the dodge logos are fine in the game, they dont detract from the gameplay. But when you see how badly and annoying the BK crap is you will agree.

not only are the logos and "have it your way" plastered all over, but the announcer actually says verbally between rounds "This punch brought to you by Burger King. it just doesnt belong.

i know boycotting burger king sounds stupid so boycott both... or write them an email that stupid advertising like this is going to backfire.

The game is amazing otherwise, truely amazing.

You make a good point....but so do the other guys, I remember when NFS Underground game out, loved it, couldn't wait for the sequel....they seemed like they did most things right as far as sequels go, but the constant barrage of ING Direct, Best Buy, and Cingular ads just kept pulling me out of the game for me to enjoy it....maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if the free roam mode wasn't so boring making me look for places....I mean, Midnight Club 3 had it's in game ads, but those didn't bother me cuz I was concentrating on the great action going on...hopefully I'll find FN3 the same way, I'm picking it up when I break for lunch.

It didn't ever really annoy me at all. I wouldn't say it detracts from gameplay. I go to about 5 or 6 fights
a year and they're always making sponsor announcements, and while I've never seen BK do it it's really
not that much of a stretch.

And by the way... Punches are brought to you by Dodge and Everlast and EA as well, so it's not just
Burger King like you're saying. It just depends on who sponsored the fight you"re in.
Hell they even have a full on Dodge commercial before one fight with
some new Dodge car sitting on a pedastal outside the ring while the announcers give the ad blurb!
Dodge gobo lights zoom all around some venues, and everlast logos are "plastered all over" as well.

And both myself and the 3 guys I was playing with started laughing when the King comes in and jumps around the ring.
...pretty funny...

Did the superbowl commercials ruin that game for you too?
This game is head and shoulders above previous versions, just enjoy it.

Have you ever watched a prize fight????
Everlast advertising in normal for a boxing match.
Advertising fast food in a sport that prides itself in conditionning and tip top shape is an oxy moron.

I'm all for advertising in video games as long as it fits in the game but you would think EA would take this into consideration before selling out.
What makes this even worse is the fact that EA said just a few months ago that they wouldn't just throw anything in their games when it comes to ads. But that doesn't seem to be the case with Fight Night R3....


Personally, if I like the game enough and if its fun;
something as distracting as this won't ruin my overall gameplay experience.
It does take away some realism but when you have a very unrealistic (SF3 like) parry system in the game,
you've already killed the realism for me.
I'm a huge boxing fan and honestly, the last time I played a very good boxing game it was on the Sega Genesis....

I personally have no problems with advertisements in games,

but I think they should only be used as a mechanism to improve the realism as opposed to pulling you out of the experience.

For instance a banner ad on the guardrails and bridges in an Racing game are completely accecptable...

If I put my game disc in and I'm forced to sit through a commercial before I can play, that is unacceptable

If they have me sit through a commercial while a level loads, THAT would be acceptable (so long as I can skip it pre-maturely if the game finishes loading early).

I haven't yet played FNR3 and I've never been to a Boxing match so I don't know what the acceptable advertising mechanism is for boxing, but it sounds to me like FNR3 isn't really out of line with what they're doing. The impression I get is that for the most part they're following with the advertising mechanism you would experience if watching an actual Boxing match, in person or on TV.

First shadows from rocks is removed in one game(whining can *maybe* be warranted), but now BK adverts in a boxing game send people into a frenzy, and BK is scorned for it.

This place is becoming more of a chore 2 visit lately
