does anyone else still not believe that it's a real Dev Kit?

edit: Not saying that you're lying, but that the box was:

A. Labeled incorrectly.
B. Full of crap and someone was trying to pull a fast one on you?

Yea come on, doesnt anybody think that Big MS watches Ebay for things like this to pop up and then message ebays owners to take it down and give as much details on how to get it back, i doubt they want any average joe having something valuable out in the big wide world

either way, ms would be pissed off.. you need liscences and a regestered company name to get those things..

you cant just say.. i am a garage game developer and i want to make a game for your system..

It's funny how people start to pipe in AFTER I disclose how much the unit sold for. Where were you PRIOR to the auction coming up. Not one of you said how much they were willing to pay for it so I just let it pass as I did not want to get in a load of crap from MS for listing a unit that I may not have the rights to have. Not to mention this was only a Beta development kit and not the FINAL version of the development kit, so I felt this beta version may not been worth too much money.

The unit was black for all who was wondering, with white game pads. The documentation that came with the unit showed a web address to go to, however, you need a password to enter it.

It did not come with a p/w so I couldn't do anything with it.

I see the person who bought it every now and then at different auctions. If I see him, I'll see whether he still has the unit and I'll try and purchase it from him.

Right, you needed a bunch of kids to confirm the value of not only an already rare system, but a dev kit? rolleyes.gif Anybody (especially someone who frequents auctions for profit) should know the value would exceed a retail unit ($400 US). This extremely rare 360 dev kit sold for ~$225 US. huh.gif

Stranger things have happened I guess. I missed out on a 1998 (in '98) Acura NSX that sold for $9,000. A kid got it for his birthday, had a fender bender (literally). The car was fine except the driver's side front fender had to be replaced. They also had the fender, it just had to be painted. The kid was scared of it and "Daddy Warbucks" wanted it out of the driveway because it was an "eyesore". I raced over there to get it, but someone beat me to it. I got there in time to watch them drive away in it.
