Early adopters looking to snag an Xbox 360 with all the bells and whistles will find themselves paying for the most expensive home video game console in a decade.

Seems like bad press to me........

At the German Games Convention in Leipzig on Wednesday (August 17), MS



announced that a 360 packaged with a wireless controller, 20 GB hard drive, headset and cable for hooking up to high-definition TVs will retail in the U.S. for $399.99. No new game system has sold for that price since the launch of the Sega Saturn in 1995

With pricing laid out for American gamers, questions will now turn to software. While no game makers have announced price increases for this holiday season, analysts have predicted since the beginning of the year that console game prices, which typically range from $40-$50 for new titles, will see a $10 increase as the next generation of hardware is released.

Lets see if the casual gamer is gonna like the high prices........

Those prices will be dirt cheap when the PS3 rolls around at prices so high they're "not for households"

I will not be able not getting the 360.. but i can understand other gamers holding out on buying another console untill they have a comparison ...

I never heard of the rev releasing at the same time point.. all i heard it was the last console to release...

lol, there are 2 point of views, ps2 was released on USA at 300$ so the xbox360 is damn expensive.
But here, in Europe, ps2 was released at something like 500€ so xbox360 is damn cheap, I am just happy that 400$ = 400€ (even if it would more be 350€), in place of 300$ = 500€.

we are just saying what we heard. and the last I heard was rev would be out sooner or at the latest, the same time as ps3.

youre welcome to look for new info. If I cared enough Id search, alas I dont give 2 poopies when either one of those hits US soil.

My bet is the rev comes out around Nov or Dec 2006 at the extreme earliest. By the looks of E3 Nintendo isn’t any where NEER done with it. They didn’t even have a controller prototype for Christ sakes!

I say February in Japan for the Rev, and March for ps3 over there. And 7 months later to reach other regions

I live in canada. The premium is 499 here.

if I get that, its 500+tax = 575. then I get 2 games which are 79.99 I am screwed for the christmas. Thaanks also MS, ROT in fucking hell.
