The firmware for the Samsung SH-D162C drive has been released. It doesn't have all of the features implemented at the moment, so it cant do ss extraction, yet, but it will be updated in a few weeks with all of the features promised implemented.

The file is called "SH-D162C_KREON_V05.RAR" and you can find more info about it in this post.

Anyways have fun and give thanks to Kreon

Been wating since I saw it in the news section, already have my D162, just have to paint it black to match one of my cases. Have to search for the file now.

I didn't even know there was a 2nd type of Samsung drive.

Does the label on top of the drive tell you which drive it is?

Its a regular DVD Rom Drive, not an XBOX360. The idea is to have a Drive in the PC that reads 360 media so you don't have to rip apart or keep apart your XBOX360 , or mod it to have the extra serial ATA ports on the back/side .

SWEET !!! biggrin.gif All good so far !!! Direct pc back ups!!! when I actually do a complete backup with SS.bin I let ya know. But reads disc in windows OK.... and ripped OK...
