Just bought an Xbox360 4GB with Kinect for Xmas. Looking for some game suggestions. I'm not a hardcore gamer, I play perhaps once or twice a week, sometimes less.

What I'm looking for:
- Highly creative, unique games
- Games with very good or moving plot, non-western RPGs
- Games that require strategy/thought
- True survival horror games - in other words, Resident Evil 0-3, Silent Hill 1-3, Fatal Frame, Siren, etc
- Very stylish games - e.g., Devil May Cry, Tenchu, Final Fantasy, etc
- Racing games for Kinect

What I'm not looking for:
- First person shooters like CoD or Halo - not interested in these
- GTA
- Western RPGs - not because I dislike western RPGs, but because I've already got Oblivion, Skyrim and Dragon Age, had enough w-RPGs for now. And usually w-RPGs are better suited for PC, due to huge mod databases. Playing vanilla w-RPGs is a joke compared to modded version
- Sports games
- Platformers, arcade games, repetitive games (kill X of monster Y, get reward Z, then repeat)

Some games I liked:
- Tales series (Symphonia, Grace, Abyss, etc) - PS2, PS3, Wii
- Folklore - PS3
- Eternal Chopin - PS3/Xbox
- Final Fantasy Series - PS2/PS3/Xbox
- Resident Evil 1
- Silent Hill 1-3
- Street Fighter 4
- Portal series
- Mafia

Thanks for suggestions.

If you haven't played the Walking Dead series then I suggest you do that. It's less of a game and more like a movie but it has a very captivating story and if you like the TV show you will definitely get wrapped up in this game. Just don't buy the disc with all of them on it because I've heard bad things about it. Download them on XBL.

Despite this game not fitting your criteria I'm going to go ahead and suggest you check out Mass Effect. For the longest time I slept on this series and in the last couple weeks I decided to grab the first game and as soon as I started playing it I could not put it down. It has some flaws (which from what I've read, are all gone in ME2 which I'm about to play) but again, the story is very captivating and similar to Walking Dead where you make your own decisions and get to see the consequences.

I think you should also check out Fallout 3 + Fallout New Vegas, despite you being unwilling to play any more wRPG's. They're probably 2 of my top 10 favourite games of all time.

Games I liked:

Resident Evil 5 and 6

Dead Space 1 and 2

Spec Ops the Line

Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City

Mass Effect 2

Star Wars Force Unleaded

Splinter Cell Conviction

Army of Two

check out things from the Assassin's Creed line - however, I think the Batman games are far better and more interesting

Since you liked Mafia: maybe take a look at Hitman or Max Payne 3

You said you don't like 1st person shooters. But these games are 1st person mission quest / shooter. I thought they were great

Deus Ex, FarCry 3, Dead Island, Rage

You might have mentioned that you don't like Hack and Slash

But there are some really good ones. They are kind of innovative and change formats at certain stages to make them unique and less repetitive

Star Wars Force Unleashed 1 and 2

Wet

Wolverine

Spider-man Shattered Dimensions

Lord of the Rings - War in the North

I'm not some kind of specialist in games, but maybe you should try Spec Ops the Line? I have to add that for me - it's damn bloody game tongue.gif
