Is It True that with a softmodded box you can still use xbox Live
I Have 2 xboxs one stock and one softmodded i have 2 live acounts one just renewed with little more than 11 months left on my stock xbox and one with approximately 9 months left on the softmodded one that i havent used in over a month because i thought it would ban that account If i Were to go from evox to The M$Dash and load up the game and sign onto live it would work and not ban me right??

and another question if it doesnt ban you Does this only work on retail games or could you do it with a back up version of the game too ? i use the account on my stock box for halo2 and i have the other account and the modded one I used to use that account for forza and madden and other games

But basically like i said just want to know can i use live on the softmodded one without gettin banned

I only have one xbox... (I KNOW! I KNOW! ONLY ONE?!?!?! OMG!!!!) .... and it's softmodded... I am ALWAYS on XBL with it. If you boot straight from the game (meaning turn on your xbox with the game in the drive already so that it comes right up) I do belive you are safe. At least that's what I've been told.. and to this day (after 5 months of a softmodded box) I haven't been banned.

Yes it's true DjChad (and anywhere that says they can't or couldn't is incorrect).

What effinboy described is called "coldbooting" and it works for original disc's on all purely softmodded xboxes (because it's an inherent feature of the MS kernel).

Additionally, with an Ndure 'retail' softmod, Live can be used when booting with the Eject button (and the softmod can be used when booting with the Power button).

well i did my box with the uxe because when i did it ndure wasnt fully released so i decided to just use the uxe versus waiting a week or 2 for ndure should i just leave mine uxe or should i take it off and then install to a ndure and since you have said itll work if i do it with n original what if i do the same method and use a backup (by going thru evox to M$ Dash then inserting game and loading then choosing live feature) on a uxe system

Thats not the same method. there's NO WAY to play backups on live, you cant boot ANYTHING homebrew before going on live. Either coldboot the game, or install Ndure retail. coldbooting with UXE does not support content/update downloads. Ndure fonts/retail setups do support content downloads/updates.
