i suffered the same question, so i bought a fan like this.

http://www.geartaker.com/product/3-fan-coo...ampaign=GG0010W

It is powered by Xbox 360 console, and no extra AC adapter needed. The price attracts most and it is free shipping worldwide.

Aha, feeling so good now!

What type of fan do you have? Nidec's are as quiet as you can get as far as stock units go. Delta's are more common.

I bought one from videogameplaza. It's free shipping, and my order comes it looks good. Nothing wrong now. Maybe you also can try to order one.

Like Haygar said, Nidecs are much quieter than the Delta fans found in most consoles. The Sunon fans are much quieter as well. Every time I 12v mod a system that I repair I try to replace the fans if they are Deltas.

Aren't those known for causing redring? I remember people said it caused redring 0001, power failure.

Do anyone have the specs for the fans of the xenon ? And is there any difference between the fans in a falcon / xenon except for the power plug?
Would it make a difference to use the falcon fans in an xenon in terms of temperatures ?
I was thinking of replacing the fans in my JTagged Xenon with either the fans from the falcon or 2 60mm fans, because if i remember correctly 70mm fans are too big right?
Thx

won't help much, if at all, to replace the fan with a falcon one.. since you have a JTAG'd console, just do a fan mod via freestyle dash or editing your config with 360 flash dump tool. or go for the talismoon fans plus the fan mod if you want it a bit quieter and more efficient. there's also a whisper max fan that has a switch to turn the fans on max at your convenience, and it also has a sealed oil chamber that causes less friction than the ball bearing fans, hence less noise.. how much difference this makes i cannot say as i've only tried the older talismoon fans.
i have a xenon that keeps the GPU at about 50-55 degrees Celsius and the fans are set to about 80-85%, and it's not that loud either with the stock fans. i keep the CPU fan speed a little lower as it keeps the noise down and isn't as important or problematic as the GPU

can you change the speed of the fans individually ? But would it make any difference in terms of airflow and temperatures on the Heatsinks if you put in 2 new computer fans ?
EDIT: i wanted to know the spec of the original fan so that i could compare them to new fans smile.gif

unless you havent opened your console and/or your still letting the stock fan controller settings overheat your console then this blocks air flow more then anything.

Like Haygar said, Nidecs are much quieter than the Delta fans found in most consoles. The Sunon fans are much quieter as well. Every time I 12v mod a system that I repair I try to replace the fans if they are Deltas.

sunon's are crap, i like nidec's but they dont move air like deltas, which is the major factor in a console that often overheats.

you cant use a falcon fan in a xenon; zepher, falcon and jasper have a 3 pin plug, xenon is 4 pin.

delta is most common fallowed by nidec with a rare sunon; in my experience (since the console came out; worked on over 1500), all 3 can be found in every console regardless of motherboard version.

you could probably just barly fit 70mm fans if you own a dremel and know how to use it...but 70mm's arent very common.

imo the best solution to both the noise level and the overheating problem is simple.

60mm to 120mm fan converter.

120mm fans move more then 2x the air (if you get a good one) and are half as noisy.

My falcon fan is a Nidec but don't know about which one the Xenon has.

I know where I can buy 70mm fans but I don't own a dremel. I thought that the original fans were 70mm high ?

I don't quite understand what you mean.. could you explain further for me ?

they are 60mm.
they span from the top to the bottom of the cage, aside from the spinning blade there might be an extra 5-8mm.

if I install a Talismoon Whisper fan with those LED lights bought from hong kong in my jtag falcon,

1) will it reduce the temps significantly?

2) will it reduce the noise

Currently I set the fan to 100% in FSD 3 and I get temp of GPU and Memory approaching 60C after some gaming, Idile they sit at around 52C (that is GPU and EDRAM)

The case and CPU seem to be much cooler, with CPU at around 40-45C.

Also will Heat sinks and thermal pads on the HANA chips make much differance to the temperatures?

Thanks
