My Xecuter3 and face replacement came in the mail today. I'm trying to install it but to no avail. Everything is taken apart, and hooked up according to the guides, as far as I know.
One problem is, when I plug my Xbox into the wall outlet, it boots up without me even hitting the power button. When it's booted, I'm getting my LED's flashing green and yellow.
My other problem is, my LCD screen stays blank while this is going on.

One question I have is, I see all these guides for the regular chips (not solderless) where I have to put in the D0/HD/LAN cables on the underpart of the motherboard. Do I have to solder these pieces in even though I have a solderless adapter?

By the way, I have a v1.1 just incase someone can identify a few solutions.

Thank you in advance.

Edit: I haven't tried to plug it into the TV yet, so I don't know if I would be getting sound/picture at all.

Are all of the drives (by all I mean the dvd and hdd) plugged in when you are plugging in the power cord?

Are you sure it is green and yellow or green and orange, you need your video cable plugged in. You also need the contract set and the LCD enabled in the OS after boot up.

You will need to flash the bios on the chip but when it is not connected to the TV then I guess you can't see anything that might be popping up.

I take it this this is a solderless install then?

Several attempts were without the hdd and dvd plugged in, but one was done with them plugged in, and it's still the same combination.

The lights are flashing green and orange, my mistake.

Yes, it is a solderless install.

don't solder the d0 wire. If you want your lan and hdd leds to work you have to solder those wires, but its optional. Did you install the power / eject adapter?

Also, did you try the chip without the new face plate? I'm not sure how those wire in or work, but it could possibly be causing a problem. Gotta start the debugging somewhere.

wow i'm having all kinds of problems.

I started debugging it from the base with only the solderless chip in. I push the power button, but nothing happens. It'll load up when I hit the Eject button, and it starts flashing green and orange.

It sounds like the front panel button isnt making contact with the button on the pcb inside.

You are also fragging, which means your adapter isnt seated correctly. Do you have any soldering skill? Or any other skills like numbchucks (speling?) or picking up babes? Kidding about those... biggrin.gif

No longer fragging!! However, my power button still doesn't work, I would overlook this, except for the fact that I need it to start my chip.

Any ideas?

Edit: I'm pressing the button itself, not through the panel

If I'm not mistaken, the X3cp doesn't come with a new power button pcb.

You have to take the OEM one from your OEM panel.

As someone asked earlier....." Did you install the power / eject adapter?"

I've got the same problem(almost). I have a 1.1 box and I'm installing an x3 w/ xapter and the control panel. All I get when I boot is on,off,on,off,FRAG I know this is caused by the chip seating, but with the lcd plugged in, the x3 won't lay flat. The red light will come on and it'll boot to flashbios if I hold it down, but the pins on the xapter aren't making a connection on their own.

Any suggestions? I've tried tape but that didn't put enough pressure on the side with the lpc connection.

BTW. The CP works fine, I haven't had a chance to enable the LCD yet, but the switch works fine.

Much Thanks.
