An idea who to rip a game and see files architecture

The X360 disc contain a video DVD track and an hidden game track exactly as the XboX 1 game disc
XboX 1 can't read it directly ( using DVD2XboX or similar software ), but knowing that is DVD Drive firmware related it could be interresting to test this method ( I have no SATA -> IDE converter so I can't try it myself )

* the XboX 1 need to be modified and had DVD2XboX or similare browsing software that allow DVD-Drive access

- remove the DVD drive from the X360
- remove the DVD drive from the XboX 1
- find a SATA -> IDE adapter and connect the X360 drive on the XboX 1 ( EJECT / Activity LED connector seems to be the same - need to be confirmed - )
- boot your XboX 1 with X360 Drive connected in
- prey for it to be detected
- try to extract data

the xbox is designed to work with an xbox dvd drive

the 360 dvd drive is designed to work with a 360

why would you even think an xbox would work with a 360 dvd drive? youd have a better chance of using it in a PC since at least then you can load custom drivers

The ata system don't have specific drivers for each DVD drive ( same for HDD ) it use generic driver, so there is a little chance that works smile.gif

but the firmware in the drive is designed to work with a specific hardware profile, thats why an xbox drive in a PC doesnt work beyond the bios recognizing the model number

in a PC at least you could use some custom drivers to spoof the correct hardware (this is possible with a thomson i blieve under linux) but it still doesnt read the games

I really think X360 and XboX 1 drives are very close, why not test to swap them it cost nothing for anyone that have already the adaptor ( and have the ability to open correctly his consoles wink.gif

If it will not works that it will just be a closed path, not the end of the world ^^

OK, you first.

You sound like you have NO clue whatsoever... The X360 drive is just not similar to the old X-Box drive. I'm not exactly way up there in the mod-scene myself, but I know for sure that there are many differences.

also believed is that each drive in the 360 is signed so it only works with the console it was originally with. wink.gif

It's true, someone tried a switch of DVD Drives between two 360's and they didn't function when switched.
