I bought my Xbox 360 in late 2006, so it does not have an HDMI output port. I have a 1080p plasma HDTV. Will the original cable that came with my Xbox 360 give me full 1080p? It has the HDTV - TV selector. How can I get the 1080p resolution from my Xbox 360? Look at these two items. http://www.madcatz.com/Default.asp?Page=41...360_Accessories http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?pro...=259&page=1 Are their claims accurate, or just mumbo jumbo false advertising?

They're both transcoders, and will most likely cause a delay, and probably a worse picture than the original. The one fromXCM only does 1080i anyway. If your TV accepts 1080p over component, then sure, it will work (just try it), if not, it probably will over VGA (if it accepts it). The 360 can output 1080p over component, VGA, or HDMI, so the ball is in your TV's court.

I didn't know that the stock cable that came with my Xbox 360 can do 1080p. I selected HDTV in the HDTV - TV selector. Hooked up Red, Blue, & Green for the video. Hooked up Red & White for the audio. The Yellow has no place to go, so I left it dangling unplugged. Everything looks good.
