Moore: 5.3 Software Attach Rate for Xbox 360
Posted by XanTium | January 8 23:00 EST

From next-gen.biz:
[QUOTE]
Xbox boss Peter Moore says that the Xbox 360 enjoys a software attach rate of 5.3 units per console (not including XBLA titles), reveals the latest Xbox Live stats and reiterates a 13-15 million hardware shipment target for FY07.

Moore said that Microsoft is still on track to meet its goal of 6 million Live users by June 2007, the end of its 2007 fiscal year.
Over 100 million pieces of content have been downloaded from online store Xbox Live Marketplace and users have downloaded over 20 million Xbox Live Arcade games to date, according to Moore. Over 70 percent of Xbox Live members download content from Marketplace.
Moore outlined what he called the "stickiness" of Xbox Live, or the high activity of members. Xbox Live Gold subscribers have an average of 21 friends, and 2 million voice, text and picture messages are sent over Xbox Live. He called this community aspect "key" to the growth of the Xbox business.

Almost all my games are XBox Live! titles and because they were XBox Live! titles, I signed up for XBox Live!. It's a win win situation for both company and consumer (Waiting for Guitar Hero for the 360 personally). That number will definitely rise with the awesome year of titles set to come out for this bad ass mofo. Almost all games should have some form of multiplayer mode (i was hoping Sonic the Hedgehog was multiplayer but nope dry.gif ). That would increase the attatch rate even more for sure down the line! Just my $0.02.

By comparison most my games are xbox live titles also, they are awsome. I have 10 Xbox 360 games purchased most of which iv hardly played mostly because I dont have the time.... yeah stupid i know BUT i know they are great games that I will enjoy sometime in the future.
Every so often I have 5 or 10 mins to bash so what better than some live game smile.gif

So that said, my attachment rate helps raise other less enthuastic peoples up. Its certainly a win win situation for both I strongly agree smile.gif

Wish the dam wireless network device would drop heaps in price, since iv moved house in oct last year I havnt had any new live games or xbox updates :| its murder

It's not hard to have an attach rate of 5.3 when most of the time they already give you 3 to 4 games when you buy the console.

As an example, when I bought my 360 on novembre 19th, it came with Arcade Unplugged, Ridge Racer 6, Advance Warfighter and Gears of War.

So personnally, I think that 5.3 is vastly overstated when this indocator is support to give you information on how many games are bought AFTER you get the console.

When I bought MINE console in november I had to get it from near country Italia, which is on my luck only 20 KM away but I still drived to Udine which is approx 80KM from border to pay 390 €(UROS) and not to get ANY game included (I guess I can be happy I got premium pack?) couse Slovenia (my country) which is for atleast 4 years in the European Union sadly doesn't have MS support to sell Xbox360 you could only get one from stores like Harvey Norman and some other small shops (which all basicly import from near Austria) in capital city - Ljubljana for something like 550 €. Just my 0.04€.

the 360 has had a high attach rate since it was launched in nov 2005. so this isn't news, just reiterating that people are still as excited about the 360 a year after launch.
