Well, after all of this, I discovered that I can't play movies that were transcoded on the fly from my computer, and see them in the quality I want (720P) on my box. I can't understand why people look for solutions like transcoding softwares like TVersity, but no one use something very simple: converting the movie. Why not to convert the movie to WMV?

Thanks.

Transcoding sucks up a TON of system resources... converting can suck up a ton of your free time

some people have more system resources than free time laugh.gif

LOL It's not that I need to sit and watch my computer while he doing th job. All I need is to click a button, and then, I return after a couple of hours... Realy, this is not about free times for me... I don't care that my computer will do converting while I sleep, eat or doing shit... So there is no reason not to convert movies? The quality will be the same? And which software would you recommend? I googled (<_@) and found in the top Xilisoft...

you lose quality with each conversion... if you're stared with a video in anything but a raw format (which unless you created the video yourself it's not) then you're taking an already compressed image and then adding more compression on top of it.

So that's a really good reason for not converting it.

As for which application to use, I have no recommendations because I don't do any converting (nor do I transcode, I simply don't care about streaming movies at all).

In any case this would be a much better question for the multimedia forum.
