My Xbox usually runs a bit hotter than that and it hasn't exploded yet.

Dont worry. One time, and I have no clue as to how it happened but the red wire going from the fan to the mobo was cut and I was in the middle of some San Andreas action. The game froze dry.gif . So I turned it off then back on and it loaded UnleashX (as it should), but the temp read 200.50 F grr.gif grr.gif grr.gif !
Oh well, got the wire fixed, works fine...

Xbox shuts off when the temp reaches 160 degrees F. It will protect itself usually, but most like to be safe rather than sorry. The only time you are going to get into too much trouble is if you start messing with the case or cooling system (obviosly). If your temps are high give the 12v fan mod a shot or put an 80mm fan in there and that will solve your problem.
