Dont worry. One time, and I have no clue as to how it happened but the red wire going from the fan to the mobo was cut and I was in the middle of some San Andreas action. The game froze . So I turned it off then back on and it loaded UnleashX (as it should), but the temp read 200.50 F ! Oh well, got the wire fixed, works fine...

TY god. bout time MS did something right.
ms doing something good? thats kinda ironic. they didnt even do a good job on the xbox. This is the reason that i have liberated mine with a tsop mod cause we all know a liberated xbox is so much better then stock crap.

Xbox shuts off when the temp reaches 160 degrees F. It will protect itself usually, but most like to be safe rather than sorry. The only time you are going to get into too much trouble is if you start messing with the case or cooling system (obviosly). If your temps are high give the 12v fan mod a shot or put an 80mm fan in there and that will solve your problem.
