As you se the @ or 40 disapears when modding the drive.
Have done this to three drives with the same result.

I had the same problem until using a great program from Giampy (Drive Serial - Dummy Bin Fixer) for Lite-On only. It is awesome. When I used it to restore all three of my files it gave me a thumbs up on everything. I just compared my data with yours and I do have the "40" string and the "@" after modding now.
