Im kind of a newbie at this xbox stuff here - so I just ordered my Xodus chip and wanted to know what to do to play backups - I know I have to flash some type of bios or something but have no idea where to start. Any help is appreciated.

You need decide on what BIOS you wish to flash to the Xodus. Connect to IRC and have a look in some of the xbox channels and you will find a whole heap of BIOS's available. Most will come with a readme detailing exactly what it can and can't do.

All will play backed up games, so it's going to be down to personal taste. Pesi or Coca Cola really. If you're looking for some more advanced features i.e. installing larger hard drives then you will have to be more selective.

But thats the great thing about being able to flash the chip, you can fiddle until you are happy.

-=The very first time you flash it=-
Once you ave got the bios, you will most likely need to connect the programmer to the xodus chip and connect the programmer to you pc's printer port. You may or may not get specialized software with the chip where you will find your chosen bios and the software will transfer the bios to the chip. Remove the programmer from the modchip and install it inside the xbox.

Once youve done this for the first time you should be able to flash the chip via other methods not using the programmer.
Its all still up in the air untill the xodus team release specific instructions. IE what the 2 switches do. You might have to have the modchip on the motheboard at the time. It may or may not be a more complicated method. Nothing you cant handle though smile.gif. Its a newb friendly modchip.
