this could most likely be a hacked firmware problem, not the drive itself. if the drive can read the original perfectly fine, than its something to do with the firmware, because verbatim is the top quality dvd+r dl's, so idk how its them. we've all tried burning this shit slowest speed and changing firmware speed and nothin works so its probably just the benq ixtreme firmware.

my cousin has this problem on an unmodded benq and i dont have any graphical glitches in any games on my modded console. ive done the x clamp mod, fan shroud mod, and 12v fan mod with a 7v switch and even at 7v i dont really see any glitches. seems to me that the glitches occur because the gpu gets so hot that it cant perform like it should

have you tried the latest version of ixtreme which is 1.5, it has some fixes that improve benq reading performance.
you must be using old firmware as in 1.5 you dont have speed selections for the drive anymore.

try updating the benq's firmware as it has made a bit of a difference for me, load times seem better but noy tried gta since upgrading.

maybe your drive is just aged and needs a clean or a pot tweak, see this thread.
