I don't know if any of you play tiger woods, but you have to use the swing stick. Well this years it seems a little touchy and me and my friends are liking it. You must use the left analog stick in a down then up motion to swing. The issue is, if u pull it the slightest bit left or right while in ur backswing, u might as well get ready to get a bogey. Im wondering if anyone is skilled enough to figure out a way to Mod a 360 controller's left analog stick to just got up and down perfectly straight? Please let me know!

you could put some kind of spacer in there on each side of it so it could only move up and down...

like this,

idk, if you can understand what i am saying but i think that my plan would be kinda easy...

The best way would be to just disable (lockout) the X-Axis of the stick with a switch and two 10k Resistors for doing what you want, but you loose the ability to curve from the swing if ya need to as pointed out. The disadvantage to doing this is you'll be cutting a trace in the controller and soldering in there and if ya have no clue how ya don't wanna learn on a $50 controller. The advantage is ya can just flip the switch back to return the controller to 'default' and restore the X-Axis so it works when/if ya need it, can't easily do that with any kind of spacer. wink.gif

you could simply just remove the bottom rheostat. it just unclips from the joystick. then lay it down on the bord. that way it will always swing perfectly straight. if you need it back on just open the controller and click it back into place

It's technically on top, and after a few of those the traces or leads on the Potentiometer (not Rheostat) aren't gonna last too long, not to mention the right PITA that whole process is. wink.gif

if you remove the Potentiometer from the analog stick you can bend the pins up thus not needing to cut any traces.

Doing that floats the Wiper line and is going to make the controller act up on the X-Axis of that stick when it feels like it, hence needing the switch (DPDT) and 2 Resistors to "lock" it in the center position when the Wiper is lifted.

EDIT: I get what ya mean though by lifting the leg as opposed to trace cutting. wink.gif

That would still need to use an entire controller to be doable, and be either a huge club or mounted off somewhere else and the Tilt board connected to the club. It's something that's doable, but I don't think would work quite right, depending on how far of a back swing ya used on the club.
