hey guys, I used to have a Hitachi and flashed it no problem, I traded it for a 360 w/ BenQ and HDMI port, I am trying to flash the BenQ but so far no luck.

I tried with iPrep 008. I get to the part to do the unlock method. I do not have a connectivity kit so i am using the 360's power. I eject the drive, unplug the power from the drive, close it halfway plug the power back into the drive and hit "Y" then "Enter" in iPrep, only to get a "unlock method failed"

When I try using Jungleflasher, on boot up I get "No comports found during enumeration" will not pick up the drive at all, I have installed PortIO32, and have a VIA Chipset. if I just click ok and go to the MTK Flash 32 Tab it displays Vendor: No Drive Detected!

Any assistance with this would be very much appreciated!

I have read the new Jungleflasher tut, I have watched numerous videos....still no luck

Well if it's a benq then why are you messing with the half open thing and com ports since they aren't needed.

Also just go throught the list of ports and you will find your benq then hit benq unlock then click read.

In the guides, and the videos it states to do the half open to "unlock" the drive.

Only port on Jungleflasher is my HDD.

Thanks for the attempt tho.

Would that be like booting iPrep from a USB Storage Device?

I get this error:

An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. Change the STACKS setting in your Config.sys file, and then try again.

I tried using iPrep 006 and that is what happens when i turn the 360 on. I did the fix for this by turning the stacks up, but still no luck.

So, you boot into windows.
Load JungleFlasher.
Power your drive on.
Cycle through the IOPorts until you see PBDS listed....
Click Benq Unlock (If that fails, Device ID/Intro).
Read....... etc ?

The above error I posted is when using iPrep, in jungle flasher I only see one IO port, I'm guessing it the one my HDD uses.

I can get iPrep to recognize the drive but get that error when turning the console one (with iPrep 006, I have tried 008 as well, obviously no luck) But jungleflasher will not recognize.

Upon booting jungleflasher It states, "No comports were found during enumeration" now I dont know if that means anything or it doesn't matter.

I appreciate all of your responses. I hope to get this resolved soon.

This is what I see:

If you have your VIA Card properly inserted into your PC you should see far more ports than just one..

Its not a VIA PCI card, its a SATA port I'm using off my Motherboard, which has a VIA Chipset.

Comports just means you have no comports on your motherboard.

Check that hte drive is on Port1 on your motherboard, power on your 360 and scroll through the IOPorts until 1 detects your drive. Also, make sure on the DVDKey tab that ViaPortsOnly isnt ticked.

Just checked jungleflaser , VIA ports only, is checked. I will disable that and try again tomorrow, as for now I am crashing lol.

I just unchecked that box, and did the drop down menu and I see the port that it gives the BenQ in iPrep, I hope this works. Going to try it right now for a matter a fact lol. Will update.

ok great Ive got farther, now I cant get the damn drive into vendor mode.

I Eject the drive, unplug the power from the drive. close the drive halfway, plug the power back into the drive, and hit Intro/Device ID

"Sending Vendor Intro
Vendor Intro Failed
Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xFD00
Status 0x51
Re-sending Vendor Intro:
.....................................
Device Intro failed!"

and that is what I get.

ok so I just read the tut again and I do not need to bother with the ejecting and crap, cause the drive has never been flashed.

Anyway when hitting BenQ Unlock I get this.

"Sending Magic Keys to Drive on port 0x0xFD00
..........................................
Done!
Sending Vendor Intro
Vendor Intro Failed"

Whoa... I think you are overcomplicating this process by combining two different methods. Here's what I did yesterday after JungleFlasher completely failed the "intro unlock" or froze up my modding PC which is a stock Dell desktop with a fresh XP SP3 install (yes I did everything by the book in regards to removing drivers etc):

1) Connect the BenQ up to a VIA 6421
2) Download and READ/STUDY the textbook PDF
3) Now follow these instructions exactly: http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Foru...pic&t=11945 (Updating Samsung/BenQ drives to iXtreme 1.51 w/ iPrep 006.2)

I spent 4 hours trying to get JF to work and 20 minutes going "old school" and flashed with iPrep v6. JF is awesome but it just didn't work for me. Good luck!
