The pictures you linked to are for a 1.6 Xbox. You need to know what model you have in order to work out whether you need to do the 1.6 wiring as per those drawings. (FYI, it isn't a chip. it's a small PCB, and it goes on the underside of the motherboard.)
If your Xbox is a 1.6 then you HAVE to remove pin 6, and install the LPC rebuild PCB (as shown in the drawings you linked to).
Forgive me but I have read and researched on the subject and can not find any solutions. The only issue so far regards installation: if my xbox is not 1.6 or 1.6b then the instruction is not to remove the pin header No6. Therefore, can I assume that since the LPC Rebuild will not fit, that there is no need to use it?
If anybody could enlighten me on this or if anyone who has installed a x2.6 on a xbox (non 1.6 or 1.6b ver), I would really appreciate your feed back.
