Confused.. Plz Help, Xbox dead Options

I am confused...
My xbox is dead now.
When I boot it i get an 06 error (death screen)
My xbox is unmodded.
When i put the drive in a modded xbox it works.
I formatted it using slayers installer 2.5 and puttet all my originil data (before i did everything i made a backup) to the disc. When i put it back in MY xbox it goes dead (06 error). Can't understand why.. When i turn it in the modded xbox with the mod chip off it works great.

Any one any idear on what to do.... or what the 06 error means?

PS. I am able to acces my hd due Slayers Installer and ftp.
I just need to now how i get it working in my own xbox.

error 6 means the drives unlocked (If i remember right)


There are error codes listed on the front page of here under tutorials.

I putted in slayers installer in the modded xbox (with my hdd in it) and "locked it". It says done. But i still get the 06 error. What can i do now. I do have a bigger hard disc which i can format but i can format mine 2... So i don's c what's the difference in doing that (someone told me to do that). Anyone know's what to do...
I would be very thankfull... Can't live without my xbox

6 means it IS locked and the it cant be unlcoked, youll need to unlcok in your modded box, the pop a modchip in the unmodded box and lock it in that xbox, then you can remove the modchip

Ok that seems logical...
But isn't it possible to get a working hd from an other xbox then backup it using hdd_driver and then restore that backup to my hd... Would it work then. Or do i really need to solder a mod in and out???

your problem isnt the data on the drive, its the fact that the drive is locked with the wrong password

if you can find a solderless mod then that will work, you might even be able to get away with taping the wires down, since you only need to chip in long enough to lock the HD

I do have the original password here.
Is there another way to lock the disc using my original password. unlockx.exe or something.. Or is it really necesarry to mod. (i never modded an xbox and i don't wanna waste my friends xbox) Tnx a lot
