I just opened up my XBOX360 and found out I have a 078FK Hitachi-LG drive. Now I fully plan to firmware flash it but here is my situation: I have an old motherboard running Pentium 4 HT with no SATA. I heard that using the latest Slax CD I can skip buying a SATA PCI card and just use a SATA-to-USB. Now if thats true, can anyone point me to a SATA-to-USB that will work for this drive? And if thats not possible, can someone point me to a SATA PCI card that will work for me? Thanks! biggrin.gif

Ok I searched, and I concluded that it is possible for the Hitachi drive, and I could purchase a pretty cheap one from newegg, but the thing I was unable to find was (a) whether or not the BYTECC one from newegg will work for the 0078 and (cool.gif whether or not I will have to use the 2 wire trick to flash it with the SATA-to-USB or will the Slax CD suffice for putting the drive into mode-b. Thanks!
