Kse: Editing Xbox Saves Without Screwing Up, I know you can only edit so much of xbox saves with KSE but... Options

I was gunna send an email to the creator of KSE but i figured id get some help from an active community first. I actually typed up an email that i was gunna send to TK but here im gunna paste it in:

Ok, i was reading your readme file for your save game editor (3.3.3) and i have to say its a very impressive program. I have been up since 2 in the morning trying to make my own save by modifying another. I have action replay, so transfer of saves from pc to xbox is really easy. Ok, you may have the program but i dont know, so im gunna explain it to you anyway. I am modifying one of the already existing saves that Action Replays Creator made. Its save 02 for KOTOR 1 (soldier, all attributes at 18, tons of cash) so i was editing his. But i read that you cant change feats, powers, or inventory or class so i didnt. All i wanted to edit was my name, attributes, skills, money, and exp for both party members and myself (2 different exp values, but you know that already). i deleted the SAVE_PARTY.sig, SAVE_VARS.sig, SAVE_INFO.sig, screen.sig, SAVE_HEADERVAR.sig, & SAVE_DATA.sig cuz your program creates it on its own (the first few trys at editing i didnt do this and i still got a damaged game error). after doing all my editing (Name, attributes, skills, money, and exp for both party members and myself), i commited changes, and exited the program and put the save game folder back into the UDATA folder. Well this may be confusing so i designed a tree down here to help tell you how the save folder is designed in action replay style.

And thats how its all cropped up. The UDATA is of course zipped and has its own name which is StarWarsKo_02Startwit.zip and i dont know how to change it without messing up Action Replay. What i want to do is edit the save to have my name at Snake Solid, all attributes (STR, DEX, WIS, CON, INT, CHA) at 26, all skills at 99 (but it doesnt have to be), my exp at 999999, and party exp at 999999 (max for both). I would love for you to tell me how to do this crap cuz it really is getting on my nerves. ive edited the file about 30 times since 2 this morning and decided to email you about it. If there was a tutorial anywhere on how to use your program to edit xbox kotor 1 and 2 saves, that would make me piss my pants. right now im tired and want to go to bed, and i hopefully will have a reply from you later today. hell it would be cool if you got on yahoo instant messenger (which i already added you and had in the description saying i sent you an email). If you want a copy of the action replay zip file i can send it to you if you want. i didnt include it in here because i dont know if you have your email filtered or not so i decided to play it safe. So i would love for a reply from you by email or by instant message (i will leave myself signed in all day in case you decide to sign on) though i may not reply cause i may be sleeping.

So if you read correctly, im having a tough time with editing Jay FNGs action replay saves. I dont know how to transfer saves of my own from the xbox to the pc (i dont know if i actually NEED Mega X-Key) but i heard you can do it with Action Replay but the AR memory card doesnt let me copy stuff from my xbox to the AR Memory card. it doesnt show the copy option. If any1 could help me out id greatly appreciate it. I also wanna do the same thing to KOTOR 2 saves also!

what i basically did was drag the 000002 - Slot2 folder out of the zip and into my saves folder of the appropriate game and edited it. this is starting to get on my nerves. ive been up since 2 and im still trying to do it and im failing every time. I mean should i just delete the all the files in the folders and let KSE create them on their own or what? its aggravating but i really want to do this and am ready to learn all the necessary things in order to get this done. If JayFNG is protecting his saves, how do i drag my saves from my xbox to my pc? the AR Memory card is protected and doesnt let you copy from xbox to the card, the copy option wont show up.

I dont know why but its not letting me edit a previous post more then once. Im used to being able to repeatedly edit my post instead of mass spamming like its making me do. Anyway, I got a reply back from TK. He said my save is coming up damaged is because the file size increased. It increased only because of me changing the name. He said you can change the name but the number of characters has to stay the same. I.e. Jay FNG is 7 characters, so i can only change it to a 7 character name without it damaging the save. Oh well here goes nuttin, Im gunna try now!

Yep it worked! everythings fine now! It increased in size a little bit but i still tryed and it took a while to load but i now have 50 str, 26 dex, 50 con, 50 int, 50 wis, 50 cha, and max exp! I literally just wet myself. Oh well im off to go mod up another save!

thats cool of you, but.....alas my xbox isnt modded so im at the mercy of ARMax. well at least Stormsinger has some bling-blingin saves there.Dak vesser has some bad-ass saves there too. I can only use mods on my PC version. of course...i am a newbeee!!

Hey. Jay, quick question. Besides making them myself, do you know of anywhere I can get KOTOR XBOX saves for each character w/ max exp and moolah but still lvl 1 at first lvl? on the AR saves, it's an either/or deal or it's not on the firstlevel/already leveled up. I get a warm tingly feeling selecting the feats and the like myself...I just get WAY too impatient fighting creatures and whatnot. Besides storyline is the most important part of a game as we all know.

If you can't think of any place would it be too much to ask you to make them (named FSD)? I'm no dabhand at editing...just actionscript and recently coldfusion (much easier than PHP by the by).

I'm just wondering how to go about creating a mod. Surely there has to be enough programs out there now that would allow that to be done fairly simply, i have KOTOR II on my pc, however my pc has gone to shit so its not worth playing on there now.

It's been a couple of years since my last post, but I'm going to give this a try and see how it works for me. Thanks for the info.
